I know I am easily obsessed with things and they are usually short lived...well that is they all rotate into the top position of my obsession. BUT, todays obsession is cleaning, and all I have to say is that I am AMAZED that I would be finding myself telling my kids to "STOP FIGHTING OVER WHO GETS TO PUT THAT AWAY!" Oh yes, you read that right. My house is looking pretty good right now (and no one is even coming over). All because of one divine word. COMPETITION.

Here are the rules, for those who want to try this.
~Gather children in one messy room.
~Look around at the objects and start calling out one object at a time. ex:"who can find some unfinished homework"
~Children run around frantic, looking for said item and put it where it belongs.
~Child MUST put item away before he/she can look for the next item called. (this game is not paused for those puting things away. Keep calling out objects)
~Caller of items should have a broom/vacume in hand to speed along the process.
~Once room is clean proceed to the next room. :>
~WARNING: Do not make the mistake of asking, "Will you pick up your _____ and put it away?" WILL NOT HAPPEN HAPPILY.
Hope you enjoy this game as much as we do. It is truly a marvel what we can accomplish with our kids working FOR us without knowing it.

I'm gonna have to remember this when we have more kids :D Nothin' like competition! (heck, I think Joe would join them - ha!)
